Smashing Times at Leinster House – Statement to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement
Smashing Times Theatre Company were at Leinster House on Thursday 19 January to promote the role of cross-border arts based projects in peace building and reconciliation. Smashing Times were delighted and honoured to be invited to make a presentation to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement. We advocate continued support for arts based companies using creative processes to build a society based on mutual respect for all people, regardless of background, and where social justice, non-violence and gender equality exist for all. We received a fantastic response from Chairperson Frank Feighan TD, as well as committee members, senators, and other TD’s. A special thanks goes to them for the work they do in promoting peace and recognising the role of the arts in peace building.
