In our capacity as members of the National Women’s Council All-island Women’s Forum, we are delighted to support the upcoming Panel Event, Celebrating the Spirit of the Good Friday Agreement: Making space for diversity, taking place on Wednesday 5 July at 11am -12pm at The Graduate, South Regional College, Newry East Campus, Newry.
The 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, has been a historic opportunity across Northern Ireland for reflection on the significance of the agreement as a cornerstone of peace on the island of Ireland. While the achievements of the past can be commended, space is needed for diverse reflection on the successes and limitations of the Good Friday Agreement through the lens of women and people from diverse communities on this island.
As representatives of communities across the island, the All-island Women’s Forum warmly invites you to ‘Celebrating the Spirit of the Good Friday Agreement: Making space for diversity’ a panel discussion on the spirit of the agreement, and the diverse communities without whom peace would not continue to be maintained.
Panellists include: Eileen Chan Hu, CRAICNI; Dr Caroline Munyi, AkiDwa; Eileen Weir, Community Activist; Eilish Rooney, Transitional Justice Institute and Nicole Kelly Parkinson, NI Youth Forum
The event is open to all and will also be livestreamed on the National Women’s Council Facebook Page
