Creative Connections Arts-Based Training Programme
Using creative processes of theatre and film to promote exchange between local communities in the South Caucasus and the Republic of Moldova

Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality is inviting applications for Creative Connections, a unique ‘train the trainer’ training programme that provides training in theatre facilitation practice. Trainees learn how to use creative processes of theatre and film to promote conflict resolution and peace building with local communities. The training is suitable for artists, cultural workers, teachers, professors, community workers, youth workers, youth leaders, facilitators, peace workers and all those working in an arts and community relations context. The training is aimed at all those interested in using the arts to explore the kind of society we want for the future inspired by equality, human rights, diversity and peace. Participants are trained in how to implement a theatre and film-based module using creative processes to promote conflict resolution and peace building with local communities.
We are currently accepting applications for this unique ten-day residential training programme. Consisting of a six day on-site residential session from 14 to 19 August 2023; a three day on-site residential session from 20 to 22 October 2023 and two online sessions taking place on Monday 18 September 2023 and Monday 6 November 2023. The on-site training will take place in Istanbul, Turkey.
Applicants are required to submit a completed application form. Applicants who receive a place on the training programme will be covered for the training fee, flights, accommodation and food.
NOTE: Training Fee, Flights, Accommodation and Food are covered.
NOTE: A working knowledge of English is required. The training is a combination of theory and practise. Participants will take part in practical games and exercises.
Teaching Methods: A combination of theory and practice-based workshop training with lectures, tutorials, practical theatre based workshops, discussion and analysis.
