The event will give an overview of the Irish in Resistance during World War iI exhibition and how the stories resonate in today’s climate of war and genocide. The Irish in Resistance during World War II exhibition is a multidisciplinary exhibition with visual art, photography, film, poetry, and storytelling, reflecting on the experiences of Irish individuals who resisted the horrors of the Holocaust and World War II. Through their bravery and moral conviction, these individuals defended the rights of others and opposed the totalitarian regimes of their time. At the heart of this exhibition are newly commissioned works by artists Hina Khan, Amna Walayat, Féilim James, and Mary Moynihan. The four artists have drawn upon stories of Irish in resistance during World War II to create artworks that capture the spirit of those who championed democracy and peace against the forces of authoritarianism. The project is funded by The Arts Council Commissions Award and is a testament to the power of art in preserving and honouring historical narratives and in taking a stance against war.  Bookings: Free admission.
