Join us for an unforgettable storytelling walk along the beautiful coastline overlooking Scotsman’s Bay, where the sea becomes the backdrop for stories of remarkable Irish changemakers who shaped our history through courage, creativity, and compassion. Our guided coastal walk stretches from the iconic Forty Foot Bathing area in Sandycove along the seacoast to the Roger Casement statue in Dun Laoghaire and back again, beginning and ending at the Smashing Times Visual Art Gallery at 30 Sandycove Road, Dublin.

Enjoy one of Dublin’s most beautiful seascapes blending dramatic coastal views and spectacular scenery with captivating stories.  Along the way, we hear stories of Irish changemakers from Ireland and local characters  associated with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, including Roger Casement and the extraordinary humanitarian, Dr Kathleen Lynn, reflecting on the different ways people have stood up peacefully for the rights and dignity of others.

We reflect on the story of sea swimming, from the restored Dún Laoghaire Baths to the famous Forty-Foot bathing area, and consider the importance of the coast as a place of creativity,  culture and well-being. The tour begins and ends at the Smashing Times Visual Art Gallery, where participants can enjoy a vibrant exhibition and continue the conversations. After the tour and gallery visit, you can stroll through the urban village of Sandycove and Glasthule, enjoying the many wonderful shops, cafés and restaurants.
