Goal NEXTGEN and Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality present a Changemakers storytelling session with a performance inspired by three stories from Goal’s Global Citizenship Education Resources, which aim to inspire a sense of global connectedness and oneness.
The Water Princess tells the story of Josie and her journey with her mother to get clean water. The story of The Hummingbird illustrates how, no matter how big or small we are, we can all make a difference. The story of The Salmon of Knowledge is a reflection on the importance of taking care of our oceans and planets. The session is created and performed by Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality and presented for the St Patrick’s Festival as an interactive storytelling session aimed at children aged 4-12.
GOAL’s Global Citizenship Education programmes contributes to raising a generation of Global Citizens who understand and critically reflect on our interconnected world, and who can act in pursuit of a fairer, more equal, and sustainable world for all.
Seven performances in total are taking place, one for the St Patrick’s Festival taking place at Tent Beag, Festival Quarter, National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, Saturday 18 March 2023, 2pm. Five performances will also take place daily at Bloom Festival, 1-6 June 2023 and one at the Dublin International Arts and Human Rights festival, 13-22 October 2023, times to be confirmed.
