Arts for Human Rights – DanceHouse Dublin, 22 September Times, 10am-1pm and 6-7.30pm

Smashing Times are delighted to bring to Ireland an international community of partners, artists, educators and activists from across Europe for the European project Arts for Human Rights. This is a major transnational Euopean project exploring questions of how to use creative processes of theatre and new digital technologies to promote learning and awareness-raising in relation to human rights and gender equality across Europe. The aim is to design a new transnational Arts for Human Rights module that educators, teachers and artists can implement with adult learners using creative processes to promote human rights and gender equality and to design a new innovative blended learning ‘Train the Trainers’ training curriculum to train educators, teachers and artists in how to implement the Arts for Human Rights module with Adult learners.

Smashing Times are delighted to be working on this unique project involving contemporary collaborative arts practice, education and learning. Artists, educators and practitioners from across Europe are engaging with diverse groups, using creative processes to promote participation, collaboration and active citizenship.

An international community of artists, practitioners, activists and educators will gather in Dublin for this major event to develop and roll out a series of activities happening across the partnership network in Europe for 2019 and 2020. Activities include workshops, panel discussions, public events and networking opportunities as practitioners come together to share expertise and learning and to explore creative ways to promote the arts for human rights.

Smashing Times are delighted to host in Ireland an international community of partners, artists, educators and activists from across Europe for the European transnational project Play It Out Loud. This is an Erasmus+ project with organisations from the UK, Poland, Spain, Greece (Crete) and Ireland. This is a two year project researching the impact of drama on children (age six years) who are experiencing social exclusion and extreme shyness, researching the impact of drama for the promotion of social inclusion with this age group. Five transnational partner exchanges are planned. Two have already taken place in Lodz, Poland, December 2018, and in Norwich, May 2019 and Smashing Times are delighted to hold the third partner exchange as part of the Dublin Arts and Human Rights festival. Participants from five organisations will come together for a two-day partner exchange attending meeting and project activities.
