As part of National Heritage Week we will be curating a specially themed Newsletter where we will revisit a cultural heritage project – Women War and Peace – focusing on Women’s Stories of WWII and the impact of those stories today. As part of this and other projects we collected stories of women who stood up to fascism and totalitarianism during WWII and the Spanish Civil War and also stories of Irish Woman who were involved in the Irish activities between 1916 and 1923. We would like to invite you to send us your stories of women who have been forgotten in history and how they have impacted and inspired you today.
We are also seeking general submissions related to the theme of Women War and Peace. We are happy to accept stories, short articles or poetry of up to 300 words and songs or short performances up to 3 minutes on this topic. Additionally, we accept photographs and artworks. We will endeavour to include as many submissions as possible.
Please email feilim@smashingtimes.ie and info@smashingtimes.ie by Friday 7th August 2020 with your submission. The newsletter will be released on 18 August, to mark the beginning of National Heritage Week, which lasts until 23 August.
