Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality are delighted to receive funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade from the Reconciliation Fund.
The Reconciliation Fund awards grants to organisations working to build better relations within and between traditions in Northern Ireland, between North and South, and between Ireland and Britain. Smashing Times are firm believers in peace building and reconciliation between communities and traditions across the world, and have engaged for many years in peace building projects in Northern Ireland, and in the Border counties.
This work can be seen in our Creative Connections project, which was implemented by Smashing Times in partnership with CAIN (Conflict Archive on the Internet), the University of Ulster INCORE International Conflict Research Institute, and in association with four participant groups: Down GAA, Ballybeen Women’s Centre, Old Warren Association and the UDR Association, Portadown. Creative Connections is an arts-based project using creative processes of theatre, film and new digital technologies to promote reconciliation and positive community relations between people and traditions in Northern Ireland and on the island of Ireland today.
