Remembrance is a MemoLab a live musical performance featuring Ugandan musician Jeff Korondo and musical performances from Hilary Bow and Lisa McLoughlin-Gnemmi; poetry from The Feeling Soul by Mary Moynihan performed by Rob Harrington and Ciara Hayes, with poetry by Áine Ni Ghlinn; and At Summer’s End by Féilim James, performed by Carla Ryan. Launch of State of the Art: Visual art, photography and poetry exhibition featuring the work of writer and artist Mary Moynihan and visual artist Aman Walayat responding creatively to themes of freedom, change, transformation, power and control. The event facilitator is Ciara Hayes, Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality. The official launch is conducted by Cllr Emma Murphy, Mayor of South Dublin County Council with presentations by the artists Mary Moynihan and Amna Walayat. The State of the Art: Visual art, photography and poetry exhibition runs at the dlr Mill Theatre, Gallery, Dundrum until Saturday 29 October 2022 and is open Tuesday to Saturday 11am-4pm.

Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality work to promote equality, human rights and diversity through the arts. Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality is an award-winning organisation dedicated to the promotion, study and practice of the arts, human rights, climate justice and gender equality. The company are delighted to be involved in Theatre in Palm, a three-year project running from June 2022 to May 2025 with twelve partners funded by Creative Europe. The project supports emerging artists and cultural performers to co-create and co-promote their work across borders, supporting the mobility of artists through networking and the provision of international opportunities for artists. In addition to hosting life performances and a ten day Artist Residency programme for five artists working on the Dublin Arts and Human Rights festival, Smashing Times are delighted to host two digital coffee talks to support artists working in equality, human rights and diversity with a minimum attendance of fifteen at each talk. The Theatre in Palm and Smashing Times Digital Coffee Talk takes place on 27 September 2024 on the theme of Theatre and Inter-disciplinary Arts practice for Equality and Human Rights. The second Theatre in Palm and Smashing Times Digital Coffee Talk takes place on 1 November 2024 on the theme of The Art of Theatre: Telling stories of people in resistance from WWII.
Landscapes of the Soul is an exciting new multidisciplinary exhibition by two artists, Mary Moynihan and Hina Khan, featuring visual art, photography, poetry and film mapping physical landscapes of nature to landscapes of the soul reflecting on ways to hold on to the courage to be who we truly are and to let ourselves shine. The exhibition brings together visual imagery and poetry to reflect on meaning-making and pathways of expression, mapping physical landscapes of nature to human emotions from grief and longing to inner peace, spirituality and love. The exhibition runs Wednesday 2 October – Sunday 3 November, Wednesday – Sunday, 10.30am – 5pm.
Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality are delighted to present Irish in Resistance during World War II, a new multidisciplinary exhibition featuring visual art, photography, film, poetry, and storytelling, reflecting on stories of Irish people in resistance during the Holocaust and World War II who stood up against fascism and totalitarianism, and spoke out for the rights of others. The exhibition is supported by The Arts Council Commission awards and the commissioned artists are Hina Khan, visual artist; Amna Walayat, visual artist and Féilim James, writer and poet, working with Smashing Times Artistic Director Mary Moynihan, a writer, poet, and creator of art and photography. The exhibition is curated by Mary Moynihan and presented as part of the Smashing Times Artist Development Programme. The producers are Ciara Hayes and Freda Manweiler, and the digital artist is Paul Marshall. The exhibition runs at The Ireland Institute, 27 Pearse Street, Dublin 2 from Friday 11 to Thursday 31 October 2024. Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality is an award-winning organisation dedicated to the promotion, study and practice of the arts, human rights, climate justice and gender equality. The company are delighted to be involved in Theatre in Palm, a three-year project running from June 2022 to May 2025 with twelve partners funded by Creative Europe. The project supports emerging artists and cultural performers to co-create and co-promote their work across borders, supporting the mobility of artists through networking and the provision of international opportunities for artists. In addition to hosting life performances and a ten day Artist Residency programme for five artists working on the Dublin Arts and Human Rights festival, Smashing Times are delighted to host two digital coffee talks to support artists working in equality, human rights and diversity with a minimum attendance of fifteen at each talk. The Theatre in Palm and Smashing Times Digital Coffee Talk takes place on 27 September 2024 on the theme of Theatre and Inter-disciplinary Arts practice for Equality and Human Rights. The second Theatre in Palm and Smashing Times Digital Coffee Talk takes place on 1 November 2024 on the theme of The Art of Theatre: Telling stories of people in resistance from WWII.
Landscapes of the Soul is a stunning multi-disciplinary exhibition by artist Mary Moynihan featuring beautiful visual art, photography, poetry and film mapping physical landscapes of nature to landscapes of the soul, reflecting on ways to hold on to the courage to be who we truly are and to let ourselves shine.
